ten on tuesday, a temporary reprieve for the tortured regular reader

in the interest of satisfying the few folks who pay attention to my inconsistent and poorly written attempt at blogging, i'm taking up queercincinnati.com's "ten on tuesday" meme. this week's subject - things i'd like to do this summer. here goes nada...

  1. clean the hell out of my car. like, seriously. we're talking b.o. episode of seinfeld level cleaning. somehow, three-guys-on-two-week-post-collegiate-road-trip-who-sometimes-slept-in-the-car funk hasn't yet dissipated. additionally, replace dented back bumper and fix the interior issues (worn leather, peeling "wood grain" paneling, etc).
  2. move to otr. the ball's already in motion for this one. just need to move stuff from 4th street up to my new place. woohooo!
  3. volunteer at the spca. i love dogs, and i'd like to have a dog, but i don't really have the time to devote during the day. unless i commit to running every lunch break, which isn't quite feasible.
  4. learn to fly a plane. seriously, i've wanted to do this forever, and now that i have the money, i let other stuff get in the way.
  5. raid friends' libraries, explore new perspectives. also, read books my dad gave me.
  6. keep training for marathon. so far, so good, but it hasn't gotten that hot yet.
  7. start a vinyl collection. parents are bringing a record player, amp, speakers at the end of the month, and i'd like to have something to play on the new system.
  8. nurture a burgeoning relationship. pretty sure she doesn't read this, so i'm safe to say something about it...
  9. call people. i'm horrible about this. i try to spread myself too thin and end up not calling anyone.
  10. start writing letters to my grandparents again. i did this when i first moved to cincinnati, and i really enjoyed it, but i "got too busy." not really, but i tell myself that to feel better about not writing.
boom. there it is. gimme some comments to let me know you still care/read. if i get enough, i may try to post more often.

congrats on the move to otr! i'm considering moving there myself, although northside might be a bit higher up on the list than otr...otr has findlay market, but northside has melt and shake it. :)

also, if you're looking for some good books, i have TONS that are currently sitting around gathering dust until i move (which should hopefully be soon). fiction, nonfiction, science fiction. no romance novels though, sorry....

these are great goals.

so many show how much you care about the relationships in your life. that kind of warmth and zest for community is so encouraging.

Always nice to catch up! If the dog thing puts you in contact with PETA please tell them to quit picking on my President! Stupid fly got what it deserved, don't you think? :O)

you should read "the Slide" by Kyle Beachy. It is a simple story but has a philosophy woven in in a very meaningful way.
